Lufkin Police Report - 02/14/07

FRAUD:  2500 block of Daniel McCall Dr.  Unauthorized purchases were made on a man's credit card after it was stolen or lost earlier in the month.

CREDIT CARD ABUSE:  1500 block of Helen St.  Unauthorized charges were made to a man's credit card over the past month.  The charges were made over the phone or via the internet because the man still has his card.

THEFT:  308 N. Timberland Dr. (Wild Willie's Club)  A bag containing cash was stolen sometime Monday night from Wild Willie's Club.

BURGLARY OF A BUILDING:  2500 block of N. Medford Dr.  A construction business reported that almost 30,000 feet of insulation has been taken from their warehouse over the past six months.  They believe it was taken over the course of that time frame, not all at once.

  500 block of Packer St.  A woman was shot in the head at her home just before 6 p.m. Tuesday.  Her live-in boyfriend has been arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault.  A handgun believed to have been used in the assault was recovered at the scene.  The victim, 20-year-old Claudia Rodriguez was critically injured. Darrell Djuan Ivey, 20, of Lufkin has been charged with Aggravated Assault and Possession of Controlled Substance after a significant quantity of cocaine and MDMA (Ecstasy) was also found at the residence.

CREDIT CARD ABUSE:  100 block of N. John Redditt Dr.  A City of Lufkin gas card that had been reported missing from a police car and cancelled in November was used several times during January and February.  Two warrants have been obtained for a man's arrest in the case, but have not yet been served.  The suspect is not a city employee.

FELONY THEFT:  800 block of S St.  Several wrecked vehicles were entered or had property stolen over the weekend while they were parked in the fenced area of a wrecker company.  Stereo equipment, electronics, and wheels and tires were stolen.

HARRASSMENT:  300 block of Shepherd St. (Lufkin Police Department)  A man reported that his estranged common-law wife is repeatedly calling him despite his requests for her to stop calling.
