An east Texas medical center is expanding. Folks at Nacogdoches Medical Center showed off a new intensive care unit to the public. The existing ICU has now almost doubled in size with the addition and renovation of adjoining floor space. The floor plan allows nurses to always be able to see inside patient rooms. There's also lots of space for state of the art equipment. Ed Price, the chief clinical director said, " We want to focus on the high tech, high touch approach and as you can see we've got the latest equipment. It's a large enough space to be able to keep patients room to feel like they're not enclosed in." The Medical Center ICU will be inspected on Wednesday. It should be ready to serve patients by the end of the month.
