Bank Fraud Suspect Pleads Guilty

by Ramonica R. Jones

There's been another guilty plea in an East Texas bank fraud scheme.

Rodney Purvis pleaded guilty to several counts of bank fraud and forged security. A judge will sentence him after a pre-sentencing investigation.

Purvis is among five people indicted by a federal grand jury for stealing $80,000 from ten area banks by using counterfeit checks.

Three other people charged in the case have also entered guilty pleas. An April 16th trial date is set for a fourth suspect.
