The Pineywoods HOME Team, which helps first-time home buyers get into a new home, has received a share of $60.8 million available to the public through loans.
The HOME team says it has a little over $1 million for a 15 county region including Angelina, Polk, Trinity, and Nacogdoches counties.
HOME team directors say there are several reasons why potential home-buyers should take advantage of the loans.
"It allows a first-time home buyer to get into a house at a lower interest rate, and allows them to have a lower mortgage rate per month, and it's just more affordable." explained HOME Team Director Charlotte Bennett.
Bennett says if you're interested in applying for a loan, you need to get your application in quickly. The loans are given on a first-come, first-serve basis.
