Nacogdoches Police Report - 02/23/07

THEFT:  2100 block of Pearl St.  Complainant reported the front license plate stolen from a parked vehicle.

THEFT:  4101 North St. (Excel Car Wash)  Complainant reported the theft of a cell phone from a vehicle.

THEFT:  2200 block of Looneyville Rd.  Complainant reported the theft of prescription medication from her vehicle after giving an unknown suspect a ride.

IDENTITY THEFT:  312 W. Main St. (Nacogdoches Police Department)  A complainant reported that an account had been opened in his name and used to purchase a computer that was shipped to an address in Florida.

ARSON:  201 Bowie St. (Northpark Apartments)  Officers were dispatched to above address in reference to a suspect attempting to set fire to an apartment. The suspect had set fire to the carpet and a door of an apartment. Residents extinguished the fire with a fire extinguisher. Laura McRee was arrested for arson. The case was turned over to Fire Marshal Terry Westmoreland. Any inquiries should be directed to the fire marshal's office.

ASSAULT:  3100 block of Austin Woods.  Officers were dispatched to a fight in progress and located a victim with obvious facial injuries. The victim refused to discuss the situation and was transported to Memorial Hospital by EMS.

DWI:  3400 block of NE Stallings Dr.  Suspect was stopped for a traffic violation and was suspected of being intoxicated. Rachel Swift was arrested.

POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE (MISDEMEANOR):  2915 NW Stallings Dr. (Kerrville Bus Station)  Officers were dispatched to the bus station regarding a theft. A complainant reported a theft from a purse while in transit. Officers located some of the stolen property on the suspect and the complainant declined to file. During the investigation, officers recovered a suspected Xanax bar from the suspect's person. Shelby Sclerandy was arrested.

POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA:  700 block of E. Starr Ave.  Officers were dispatched to a noise complaint. Officers observed the suspect standing in front of the residence smoking suspected marijuana. He was found in possession of suspected marijuana. Steven Covaleski was arrested.
