Lufkin Police Report - 02/27/07

THEFT:  900 block of S. Medford Dr.  A man grabbed a 12-pack of beer and fled from a convenience store around 5:20 Tuesday morning.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF:  1800 W. Frank St. (Pilgrim Pride parking lot)  A vehicle was keyed sometime Monday night while the owner was at work.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF:  1800 W. Frank St. (Pilgrim Pride parking lot)  A vehicle was keyed sometime Monday night while the owner was at work. (Same location as above case, but different vehicle.)

DEAD ON SCENE:  400 block of Sandybrook Dr.  A five-year-old child died at home Monday night.  The child had been born with serious health problems and apparently died of natural causes

ABUSE / HANGUP:  100 block of Palmetto St.  A woman reported that her husband shoved her and pushed her to the ground during an argument Monday night.  The woman who was in the car with her husband then assaulted the victim's mother-in-law by hitting her with a car door several times, causing that victim to fall and injure a small child.  No one required medical treatment.

HARBORING A RUNAWAY:  300 E Shepherd Ave. (Lufkin Police Department)  A fifteen-year-old girl has run away from her custodial mother.  It's believed the child went to be with the man she believes is her biological father.  That man was contacted and said she was with him but he had filed for custody and had a court order.  The custody suit filed did not give him temporary custody and the man refused to bring her back when told that.

ASSAULT:  100 block of Douglas St.  A man reported that his roommate hit him and choked him when the victim asked the roommate for his share of the rent money.

ASSAULT:  2500 block of Daniel McCall Dr.  A man reported that he was assaulted by two men over a disagreement regarding a work matter.  The man had minor scrapes and bruises, but the hood of his car was damaged during the fight.

UNAUTHORIZED USE OF A VEHICLE:  300 block of Lazy Oaks.  A woman reported that her ex-boyfriend took her vehicle without permission.

THEFT:  923 W. Frank St. (CVS Pharmacy)  A man walked out of the pharmacy without paying for a watch he took Monday morning.

BURGLARY OF A VEHICLE:  1400 block of Atkinson Dr.  Thirty gallons of diesel fuel was stolen from a rental truck during the past few days.

UNAUTHORIZED USE OF A VEHICLE:  1100 block of S. Timberland Dr.  A woman reported that she went partying with two friends Sunday night.  When she woke up Monday morning, the female friend was gone and so were the victim's keys and car.
