News Release:

Members of the 3rd Texas Cavalry Reenactment group / Venture Crew 1861 BSA are making plans to attend the National Reenactment of the Battle of Shiloh in Tennessee.

Sixteen members of the group plan to drive to Corinth, Mississippi and march to Shiloh, Tennessee to join an expected 16,000 other Reenactors from around the world and reenact the battle that changed the Civil War. To do so, members will raise $4,000 to pay for the trip.

During their trip, they will relive life in the 19th century, living as our ancestors did. These young historians have put in a lot of time researching and preparing themselves to be able to take on 19th century personas. Dyson Nickle, the group's leader, says that the young historians will gain invaluable experiences and gain a unique understanding of the way people lived - no lights and cooking over an open fire.
