Lufkin Police Report - 03/01/07

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF:  2500 S. Daniel McCall Dr. (Wal-Mart)  A car was scratched up by an unknown sharp object while the owner was shopping in the early morning hours Thursday.

DEAD ON SCENE:  Judith St.  A woman was found deceased in her home.  The woman had a history of health problems and there was no apparent sign of foul play during the initial investigation.  The woman's family has not yet been notified, so her name and address isn't being released at this time.

ASSAULT:  2400 block of S. First St.  A woman reported that a co-worker shoved her down at work Wednesday evening.  No injury.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF:  600 block of Newsom St.  A car was scratched by an unknown sharp object overnight Tuesday.  The victim's car had been scratched in the same manner on Monday night, too.

THEFT:  1600 S. First St.  A company gas card was used several times without authorization on Tuesday evening.  It's believed the card was stolen from an employee's jacket.

THEFT:  702 Grove Ave.  Two business checks were stolen and forged.  A former employee is suspected.

THEFT:  309 N. Bynum St.  (Parkwood Place Nursing Home)  A known suspect was seen wearing clothing stolen from a nursing home laundry Wednesday morning.  The man was also seen drinking milk believed to have stolen from the kitchen area of the nursing home that morning.
