Lufkin Police Report - 03/06/07

BURGLARY OF A VEHICLE:  1600 block of Long St.  A window was broken out on a car and the car stereo and an I-Pod were stolen Monday night.

THEFT:  1000 block of S. Timberland Dr.  A shoplifter stole an automotive 36" light kit from an auto parts store Monday.  The man was not caught.

DRUG ACTIVITY:  1201 W. Frank St. (Memorial Hospital)  A patient brought to the emergency room Monday from an industrial accident in Cherokee County was found to be in possession of a substance that tested positive for cocaine.  The man was not arrested Monday due to his injuries, but charges are pending.

THEFT:  2500 block of S. John Redditt Dr.  Unauthorized access to cable service was found by a company technician Monday.  The person who hooked up the cable without authorization also caused $500 worth of damage to the cable box.

FRAUD:  900 block of Linkwood St.  A woman received notice from a check authorization service that her name had been used to write a hot check in another city.  The account number used was not the victim's.

  Butler St.  A mother and daughter reported assault.  The two approached a woman who had been reportedly trying to fight the daughter and told her to leave the daughter alone.  The woman hit the mother and when the daughter tried to break up the fight a man stepped in and hit the daughter.  The man and woman later reported that the mother and daughter had attacked them and pulled a knife.  No injuries reported.

 1300 block of Kurth Dr.  24 sheets of 5/8" plywood were stolen from a construction site sometime Saturday night.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF:  4600 block of S. Medford DR.  A car door was scratched up Sunday afternoon by an unknown sharp object.

BURGLARY:  100 block of Whitehouse Dr.  Installed electric wire was stolen from a building under construction over the weekend.
