Accused Bank Robber Has a New Trial Date

An accused bank robber now has a new trial date. Michael Ellis is charged with robbing the Hibernia bank in Lufkin back in 2004. He is now expected to go on trial April 16th in Beaumont's federal court.

Investigators said the 40-year old walked into the bank on South First Street in June of 2004 and used a note to threaten bank tellers with a bomb.

Ellis was arrested just eight minutes after the robbery. If convicted, he faces up to 25-years in prison.
