Freedom Fighters: Mark Kempf

Mark Kempf joined the Army hoping to defend our country in Iraq, but a near fatal car crash ended that dream. Kempf was in a coma for three months with massive head injuries. Rehabilitation was an additional year. Part of his rehabilitation was volunteering for Meals On Wheels. Kempf took to the assignment in a big way and is now an important of the MOW team.

Kempf volunteers at MOW Mondays through Fridays, driving at least one route delivering meals and also filling in for other drivers. He feels that the war he's fighting now is against hunger and poverty and that he's "defending our country from within."
