Guy Davis Retires From Coaching

The face of Angelina College basketball is moving on.  After 31 years of coaching, Roadrunners Head Coach Guy Davis retired from the game Monday afternoon.

"I guess there's no good time for something like this," Davis says. "I guess I could do this until they planted me at mid-court.  "But I was told a long time ago that I'd know when it was time to go, and that was right. I know that now is the time for me to go."

Davis won 471 games at A.C.  However, wins never consumed him.  "The wins and loses, I never had a clue. I don't care about that. It's the kids."

Davis sent over 150 Junior College players to a Division I, II or III school.  He will now travel with his wife, but possibly return to A.C. in a part time advisor role.
