Texas Warrant Roundup Results

The first statewide warrant roundup focusing on Class C offenses is being called a success. The Nacogdoches Municipal Court collected more than $163,000 in fines. More than one thousand letters were mailed out to delinquent defendants by a collection agency. Municipal Judge Juanita Springer said, "They collected probably about one half of what we did, so they were very instrumental in that, so it was combined effort, the police department, us and the collection agency."

Statewide individuals paid more than ten-million dollars to clear about 91,000  warrants. If possible, Nacogdoches wants to participate again next year.
