Lufkin Police Report - 05/04/07

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF:  800 Block of South Timberland St.  A piece of asphalt was thrown through the glass door of a business and set off the burglar alarm at 2am this morning.  There was no indication that anyone entered the store through the broken door.

ASSAULT:  500 Block of Vine.  A woman reported that her boyfriend assaulted her during an argument.  The woman stated that after she swung at him and missed, the man shoved her in the chest with his fist.  The woman was not injured.

BURGLARY OF A VEHICLE:  700 Block of South Timberland Dr.  A window was broken out on a pickup Thursday night and some blank checks were stolen.  The suspect(s) also damaged the dash of the truck in an attempt to get the stereo out.

THEFT:  100 Block of South End Blvd.  A man reported that his social security check was missing after his grandson stopped by for a brief visit Thursday night and left hurriedly.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF:  700 Block of South Timberland Pl.  The window was broken out of an SUV Thursday night but nothing was noted missing from the vehicle.

FELONY THEFT:  1600 Block of Ginn Way.  A travel trailer was stolen from a home Thursday afternoon.  It was recovered a few hours later in Hudson.  No suspects.

THEFT:  1000 Block of Duren.  An air compressor was stolen from a carport Wednesday or Thursday.

BURGLARY OF A VEHICLE:  500 Block of South Bynum.  A tool kit and bag of tools were stolen from the covered bed of a pickup truck between Wednesday afternoon and Thursday afternoon.

BURGLARY:  St Andrews.  Cash and a credit card were stolen from an unsecured vehicle parked at the owner's residence last weekend.

FORGERY/COUNTERFEITING:  200 Block of First.  Victim reported that a check was stolen from her vehicle and forged on May 01. 

BURGLARY:  118 Block of Booker.  A vacant house was broken into during the past week.  A refrigerator and an air conditioner compressor were stolen.
