Man Arrested for Retaliating Against Judge

A Corrigan man has been arrested for threatening to kill a state district judge in Angelina County. Investigators said 25-year-old Humberto Cruz told a co-worker he was going to kill Judge Barry Bryan.

He was arrested just before he was to appear in court before Bryan for an aggravated assault case. Last April, Cruz and several friends were giving a woman a ride. They're accused of beating her up and dumping her on the side of a road.

Cruz is now charged with retaliation.
