Fatal Car Accident

A Whitehouse teenager was killed in an overnight wreck. It happened around ten last night on Farm to Market road 848, just north of Whitehouse. Department of Public Safety troopers tells us 17-year old Alexander Fleming lost control of his car and hit an oncoming car. The driver of the other car was taken to a local hospital and is said to be in stable condition.

Wal-Mart Robbery

Police need your help today finding the man who robbed a Wal-Mart Supercenter. Lindale police tell us around 6:30 last night, the man held up a cashier at the Wal-Mart Supercenter on Centennial Drive in Lindale. You're looking now at pictures from surveillance video from last night's robbery. Once the robber took off with the cash, shoppers followed him outside, taking down part of his license plate. Police say they are just glad no one got hurt. "It's very scary when you have a crime like this. That's our main concern," said Sergeant Cherry Bolton with the Lindale Police Department. Police say the robber is a black man, between 18-25. He's described as 5-feet-5 inches tall and about 140 pounds, wearing a white shirt, camouflage shorts and a brown hat with earflaps. He was last seen driving off in a grey Honda Civic or Nissan Altima with Georgia license plates and the numbers "D-V-5." Inmate Found Dead

An autopsy is ordered for an East Texas inmate, found dead in his jail cell. Van Zandt County guards found 25-year old Matthew Collin Miller in his cell Monday night. Officials say Miller apparently hanged himself with a telephone cord. The Texas Rangers are investigating.

Missing Man

Police need your help finding a missing Nacogdoches man. 36-year old Ricky Morris lives in the 200 block of Lakewood in Nacogdoches. He is 5'11", weighs about 140 pounds and has brown hair and green eyes. He was last seen wearing black denim overalls and driving a GMC truck. If you have any information, you should contact the Nacogdoches Police Department.

Student Critical after A-T-V Accident

A Jacksonville High School student remains in the I-C-U today after an A-T-V accident on school property. The incident happened last week when the school says the 17-year old student athletic trainer drove too close to a creek embankment and slid down. The school says the two male passengers suffered minor injuries and are back in school.

Landmark Demolished

A pile of debris is all that's left of a well known Lufkin business this morning. Coleman's Service Station and Garage, located near downtown Lufkin, was demolished Tuesday. The owner chose to tear the building down because it was unsafe and decaying.

Gasoline Tax Relief?

Some possible relief for Texas drivers. Late Tuesday, the state house tentatively adopted a measure to suspend the state's 20 cent gas tax through the summer. If signed by Governor Rick Perry, the tax relief would be good for 90 days. If approved, the suspension would take effect immediately. Triple-A Texas reports that statewide average price of gasoline last week rose nine cents, to reach two-87 per gallon.
