Stroke Awareness Month

It is the third leading cause of death, and if you can make it to the hospital in time, it could keep you from suffering permanent damage... it's a stroke.

May is stroke awareness month. Health experts say you should pay attention to signs and symptoms of a stroke including paralysis, weakness, blurred vision, stumbling and difficulty walking and a severe headache.

Jerry Fears, the director of emergency services at memorial hospital in Lufkin, said that time is brain.  The sooner you can get to healthcare provider, the less damage your brain will suffer.
