On March 13, 2007, a home at 2303 Moffett in Lufkin burned under what arson investigators termed "suspicious circumstances". But the homeowner's troubles didn't end there. They were only worsened by a theft a month later.
Sometime between Friday, April 20th and Monday, April 23rd, someone removed virtually the only things of value that weren't destroyed by the fire. They stole six windows, frames and all, and the outside air conditioning unit from the burned home.
The Lufkin Police Department believes someone must have seen the thieves. Perhaps they looked like they were doing salvage work, but in reality, they were stealing the property.
