Volunteers for the 2007 Texas Blueberry Festival are excited in hosting hundreds of blueberry lovers to Nacogdoches. The most delicious festival in Texas includes tons of fresh blueberries sold on the square, blueberry pancakes, a giant inflatable Bounce Park, blueberry cobbler and blueberry ice cream contests, Elsie's Borden Express Train, a 42 tournament, classic car show, a pie eating contest, food and arts vendors and lots more.
Nearby blueberry farms are available for festival-goers to tour and pick their own blueberries. LIve musical entertainment includes acoustical guitar to country to jazz and soft rock. Three stages will be filled with entertainers.
The event is a state sanctioned festival and one of only six featured in Texas Monthly. The festival is also getting a lot of pre publicity in major metropolitan newspapers.
If you don't want to miss the largest downtown festival that Nacogdoches hosts make your plans now. Some people plan well in advance. Family reunions are scheduled on the second weekend in June. The event is so popular that the schedule of events highlights next year's dates. Every hotel room in Nacogdoches is booked.
Blueberry growers promise native blueberries are ripe on the bush. With six different varieties, you're certain to find a farm offering ripe, sweet berries.
