Michael A. Romano
Private military graveside services for Michael A. Romano, 50, of Lufkin will be held in the Whitehouse Cemetery with Reverend David Craig and Brother David Anderson officiating.
Michael was born December 31, 1956, in Orange, Texas to Sonja (Anderson) and Richard R. Romano and died Saturday, June 9, 2007 at his residence. He resided in Lufkin for 18 years.
Mr. Romano served four years in the U. S. Navy submarine service as Legal Yeoman on the USS Andrew Jackson SSBN 619. He was an avid baseball fan and lettered in four sports in high school. Mr. Romano worked for the Department of Aging and Disability Service as a case manager. Mike loved "his guys" at the Lufkin State School and was passionate about the care they received.
Survivors include his wife, Paula of Lufkin; son, Brandy Romano of Lufkin; daughter, Skjarkneykuh Romano of Lufkin; mother and step-father, Sonja and Havey Morgan of Lufkin; father, Richard R. Romano of Savannah Ga.; sister, Tonja Romano; sisters and brothers-in-law, Yvonne and David Wells of Lufkin, Roxonne & Danny Peabody of Newark Valley, N.Y.; brother and sister-in-law, Richard D. and Dana Romano of Austin; sister and brother-in-law, Victoria and David Gochnour of League City; aunts, Mildred Weeks of Lufkin and Gloria Bounds of Lufkin; uncle, David M. Anderson, Sr. of Huntsville; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday evening, June 17, 2007 at the funeral home.
