SFA Security

While most students are just getting settled into summer, SFA University Police say they're preparing for the fall.  They are in the process of ensuring students safety in case of an emergency on campus.

They currently have an email notification, PA systems in buildings, emergency phones throughout campus and have recently added to their web site a way to post an alert if something should happen. But now they're looking to do more.

The school recently began developing a new plan to send emergency information to all students, faculty and staff by text message. It also includes an outdoor PA system and maybe more.

The students seem to think it's a good idea and are in favor of anything that keeps them safer.  Officials are trying to get the plan approved and funded.  They hope to have it ready to go by the fall semester.
