Lufkin Police Report - 06/25/07

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF:  1400 block of Briarwood St.  An unknown person threw a rock through a car window just after 3am this morning.

BURGLARY OF A HABITATION:  3000 block of South First.  An apartment was broken into sometime Sunday evening.  Assorted items were stolen, including a digital camera, a Palm Pilot and an X-Box video game.

BURGLARY OF A HABITATION: 900 block of Third.  A residence was broken into sometime Sunday and a video camera, 2 digital cameras and some alcohol was stolen. 

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF:  1200 block of East Denman Av.  Complainant reported that her vehicle was "keyed" sometime Sunday morning.  The car had a long scratch all the way down the left side. 

DEAD ON SCENE:  300 block of Mill.  An 83 year old woman was found deceased in her home Sunday evening.  No signs of foul play were found and the woman appears to have died of natural causes.      

ASSAULT:  3000 block of South First.  A man reported that his wife slapped him in the face during an argument Sunday evening.  

ATTEMPTED BURGLARY:  1600 block of South First St.  Officers responding to an active burglar alarm Sunday afternoon found a back door lock damaged.  Nothing was reported missing when management came to the scene. (Kwik Kar)

ASSAULT/SEXUAL/RAPE:  A parent reported their 16 year old daughter was found to be having an ongoing consensual sexual relationship with a 21 year old man.

THEFT:  1200 block of West Frank.  A woman reported that she left her purse by the fountain outside Memorial Medical Center Saturday and believes someone took it.    

HARASSMENT:  400 block of Lynn.  A man reported ongoing telephone harassment.  The man stated the phone harassment and threats increased when the victim sent nude photos of the suspect's wife to the suspect.

DEAD ON SCENE:   100 block of Whitehouse Oak.  An 80 year old man was found deceased in his home.  No signs of foul play were found and the man is believed to have died of natural causes.

ASSAULT:   1400 block of Russell St.  A woman reported that her ex-husband came to her house early Sunday morning and was yelling at her and grabbed their daughter's hair.  The daughter was not injured and the suspect left.

THEFT:   1100 block of North Timberland.  A man reported that a prostitute and two men had stolen his cash just before 4am Sunday morning.  The man said he took the woman from his motel room to a nearby convenience store where he believed she gave his room key to two men.  When the man and the prostitute returned to his room, the victim saw the same two men leaving his room.  The prostitute then fled with the men. The man then found that all his cash had been stolen from his wallet.  A car chase across town ensued where the victim rammed the suspects' car and stopped them on S. First.  The two males were identified and the prostitute fled on foot and was not located.  The money was not located, case referred to detectives.

BURGLARY OF A VEHICLE:  800 block of North Timberland.  A man reported that he saw a known suspect reach into his unsecured car at a convenience store and steal a small amount of cash early Sunday morning.

THEFT OF SERVICE:  4000 block of North Medford.  A group of people left a restaurant without paying for their meal early Sunday morning.   

BURGLARY OF A BUILDING:  100 block of Mcmullen.  A pastor found his church office ransacked.  A computer was broken and animal feces was spread on the office furniture.  There was no sign of forced entry and the pastor named a suspect whom he has been having problems with and is also a key holder.
