Another SFA Administrator Will Resign

Another top Stephen F Austin State University administrator will soon be leaving. Vice President of Finance and Administration Deborah Baisden plans to hand in her resignation later this week. Baisden was hired just over a year ago. She said she'll be doing a special assignment for SFA President Baker Patillo for a few months, but it will be after her resignation.   Baisden said, " At this time, call  the resignation mutual. This is not uncommon in higher education when a new administration comes on board." As of Thursday there has been no response from SFA administration on Baisden's decision.

Earlier this week Vice President of Academic Affairs Marlin Young announced his retirement. He reported he was asked to resign after 40 years.

Baisden is hopeful she and her family will be able to remain in Nacogdoches. " We moved here to get away from the hustle and bustle of a large city. This place is great for our children." Baisden's husband, Gary, just accepted a purchasing job with the City of Nacogdoches. Gary Baisden said his position won't be affected by his wife's decision. " We'll do fine," he said.
