Lufkin Police Report - 06/29/07

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF:  500 block of Charlton St.  A vehicle was scratched with an unknown sharp object sometime during the past couple of days, damaging the paint.    

HARASSMENT:  100 block of Palmetto Circle.  A woman reported that her life was threatened by a known suspect during a phone call Thursday afternoon.

FORGERY/COUNTERFEITING:  900 block of Ellis St.  Several business checks were reported to have been forged and passed at different locations around town.  A former employee is suspected.

THEFT:  3000 block of South John Redditt.  A woman left her wallet at a store Thursday afternoon and it was gone when she returned a short time later to retrieve it.

CREDIT CARD ABUSE:  4200 block of South Medford Dr.  A man reported that a credit card was taken from his home by a known suspect who made several unauthorized charges on the card.

THEFT:  900 block of Hoo Hoo.  A man loaned two power saws to a friend Wednesday who failed to return them as promised.  The complainant thinks the friend may have sold them.  

THEFT:  2300 block of Lufkin.  A woman left her wallet in the lobby of the county jail Thursday morning and it was gone when she went back to retrieve it a short time later.  Two unauthorized charges were made on the victim's credit card shortly after the theft.

UNAUTHORIZED USE OF A VEHICLE:  700 block of Timberland.  An employer reported that an employee took a vehicle without authorization in mid-June and never returned it.  The employer returned from vacation and discovered the vehicle missing.  The car has been located, it had been towed as an abandoned vehicle in Nacogdoches and the employee hasn't returned to work.
