Sherri Arena had always dreamed of owning a blueberry farm, so her husband Chuck bought Blueberry Hill Farms in Edom. Problem was, the Arenas didn't know anything about farming and almost lost their blueberry bushes before they learned how to care for them from the Internet.
These days, Blueberry Hill Farms is prospering. The Arenas have even added a second planting of blueberries and blackberries in Ben Wheeler. They also have set up a blueberry store where blueberry and blackberry jams and baked goods are for sale along with blueberry lemonade and yogurt. It seems the Arena family has turned their blue into green.
Blueberry Hill Farms is open June 10 through July 20, 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. They are located on FM 314 in Edom.
