Lufkin Police Report - 07/09/07

BURGLARY OF A HABITATION:  800 block of Rushwood Dr.  An entertainment center, CD players, a camcorder and a wedding ring were reported stolen during a residential burglary that occurred sometime Sunday evening. 

THEFT:  100 block of Westerholm Ct:  A go-cart was stolen from a residence over the weekend.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF:  100 block of Miles Way.  Two tires were slashed on a woman's car Sunday night and the paint was scratched all the way down one side of the car by a sharp object.     

BURGLARY:  100 block of Oakwood.  A residence was broken into and two DVD players were stolen sometime between Thursday and Sunday evening.      

BURGLARY OF A VEHICLE:  3000 block of South First St.  A rod and reel were stolen from the bed of one pickup and power tools were stolen from the toolbox of another truck parked nearby Sunday evening.

BURGLARY:  500 block of Homer St.  A man reported that someone stole his shorts with his social security check in the pocket sometime during the early morning hours Sunday.     

BURGLARY OF A HABITATION:  2300 block of North John Redditt.  A television and a laptop computer were reported stolen in a residential burglary that occurred within the past week.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF:  300 block of Lazy Oaks.  A man reported that someone kicked a dent into his car door sometime Sunday.

THEFT:  300 block of Moody St.  A man reported that he woke up Sunday morning to find that his $45 and his roommate were gone.

BURGLARY OF A VEHICLE:  3000 block of South John Redditt D.  A pickup was broken into sometime Saturday night but nothing appeared to have been stolen during the vehicle burglary.

THEFT:  1500 block of Martin Luther.  A man reported that he placed his cigarettes, cell phone and some cash on a picnic table at Jones Park and they were stolen when he turned away from it for a short time Saturday afternoon.

THEFT:  900 block of South John Redditt.  A woman accidentally left her cell phone on the counter of a convenience store around 1am Sunday and it was gone when she returned for it later.

BURGLARY:  3000 block of South First St.  A man saw three men breaking into his Jeep around 5am Sunday morning and chased them away.  The suspects cut both back windows of the soft top on the Jeep and got in but nothing was reported missing.  The suspects fled in a tan dually pickup.

THEFT OF SERVICE:  4400 block of South Medford Dr.  A man and woman with a small child walked out of IHOP without paying for their meal late Sunday night.

THEFT:  100 block of Champions Dr.  A clerk advised that a man stole money by shortchanging the clerk during a purchase Sunday evening.  The suspect made a small purchase and then began asking for change for other bills, confusing the clerk.  The man left with $68 more than he should have.
