SFA Faculty Want Raises

Resigned, retired and replaced. That's what has happened for top level administrtors at Stephen F Austin State University.   Nothing was said publically about the change at Monday's SFA regents meeting.

The regents gathered for committee meetings. They heard from the Senate Faculty President, Dr. Marc Guidry.   He praised the new buildings on campus, but now wants higher salaries for faculty.      " We believe that the board and the administration can now put that same level of commitment and energy into growing the academic side, into better salaries for faculty to better academic facilities, more money for research, "  said Guidry.  He pointed out that universities smaller in size and revenue are paying faculty more than what professors at SFA are receiving. Guidry said he's anxious to work with a new team of administrators and regents in achieving the goal. Three new regents will be sworn in when SFA regents reconvene Tuesday morning.
