Multi-Million Dollar Expansion Delayed

A highly-anticipated expansion project in Diboll has been put off. The $2 million project at T.L.L. Temple Memorial Library was set to start in late April. Instead, construction won't begin until the end of the summer.

It took a while for the library to get city approval for the closure of Park Street. Now, the search is on for a contractor to begin construction. The expansion will double the size of the public library.

More than 15,000 people used the facility last year. The changes will include a reading room dedicated to the late federal judge John Hannah, Jr., a Diboll native.
