Lufkin Police Report - 07/17/07

ASSAULT:  300 block of Cousart.  A woman reported that her husband slapped her and broke the telephone when she tried to call police during a disturbance early Tuesday morning.  The woman had no visible injuries and the husband fled the scene before officers could talk to him.    

ASSAULT:   3200 block of Old Union Rd.  A woman reported that her ex-boyfriend shoved her and scratched her chin while snatching her cell phone away from her during an argument early Tuesday morning. 

AGGRAVATED ROBBERY:  1100 block of South Timberland St.  A man reported that he was robbed at gunpoint by two men  around 11:30 Monday night.  The victim said he let two acquaintances into his motel room and one of them pulled a handgun on him and they held him down and took his wallet and $10 before fleeing on foot.  The victim knows the men on sight but doesn't know their names.

TERRORISTIC THREAT:  3200 block of Daniel Mccall.  A woman reported that her boyfriend's father threatened her life during an argument Monday night.  

STALKING:  2300 block of South John Redditt Dr.  A woman reported that her ex-boyfriend is continually calling her and won't stop despite repeated requests to do so.  The woman reported that the suspect pulled up beside her on the highway and was yelling at her Monday night and swerved his car towards hers.

CREDIT CARD ABUSE:  4600 block of South Medford Dr.  A woman working in a kiosk at the mall set her checkbook down to help a customer and it was stolen while her back was turned Monday evening.  A man and woman were seen trying to use the stolen credit card a short time later at another location.

THEFT:  100 block of Temple.  A gas powered hedge trimmer was stolen after it was left unattended outside the laundry area of an apartment complex Monday afternoon.          

THEFT:  2800 block of South First St.  Two ladies Rolex watches were reported stolen during shipping from Lufkin to Houston.  The shipper's loss prevention department suspects internal theft because the watches were received in Lufkin but never made it to Houston.

FORGERY/COUNTERFEITING:  900 block of North Timberland Dr.  A woman reported that a check lost last week has been forged at a grocery store by an unknown suspect.   

FORGERY/COUNTERFEITING:  2500 block of Daniel Mccall.  A man reported that several of his checks, stolen in a vehicle burglary earlier, had been forged at Wal-Mart by an unknown suspect.       

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF:  700 block of Gaslight Bl.  Nails were found scattered throughout a doctor's office parking lot Monday morning.  It appears they were placed there deliberately to try and cause flat tires.  No damage occurred.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF:  900 block of Grove St.  A man reported that his pickup was hit with an egg Sunday night.

THEFT:  4000 block of North Medford.  A truck driver reported that four batteries were stolen from his truck over the weekend.
