The Houston Texans were all smiles on Friday. Thanks to pouring rain in Houston, the Texans opened training camp indoors. Cornerback Dunta Robinson hopes for more of the same weather the next four weeks.
"It feels like OTA's," Robinson says. "You walk off the field, your jersey's not too wet. But we got a lot of good work in. Guys flew around and made plays on both sides of the football. It was a good day overall."
"This is a treat," Wide Receiver Kevin Walter says. "It rained cats and dogs last night, but we're in here. It's cool, it's air conditioned, it's not bad."
The Texans were happy and all accounted for. First round pick Amobi Okoye signed a six year deal with the team. The twenty year old was the tenth overall pick.
The Texans also signed seventeen year wide receiver Keenan McCardell. McCardell is a Houston native with 861 career catches. Quarterback Matt Schaub says he'll help the team immediately.
"It's a huge addition," Schaub says. "It's a guy who's been in big games and played a long time and knows how to win at this level. To bring that guy on the offensive side with the experience and leadership is really going to help out our offensive football team."
