Freedom Fighters: Raleigh Sherman

Raleigh Sherman entered the U.S. Army Air Force in 1940 as a flying cadet. Before his distinguished twenty year career was over, he had "flown the Hump" over the Himalayas, over a hundred times during World War Two, had flown 120 missions into Berlin during the "Berlin Air Lift", and had flown so many dangerous missions into Korea during the Korean War, he lost count. Sherman refers to the China-Burma-India campaign during World War Two as a "forgotten war". Ironically the Korean War is also called "The Forgotten War."

After a distinguished career in the Air Force, Raleigh Sherman retired as a Lieutenant Colonel to his hometown of Jacksonville, Of his service to his country, he simply says "I wouldn't have missed it. It was necessary."
