Veterans Get a Ride to Houston Medical Appointments

In two weeks, some East Texas veterans will have a more comfortable ride to their out-of-town doctor's appointments.

Starting August 13th, a 50-passenger bus will drive Lufkin vets to and from their medical appointments in Houston.

Many of the vets that travel for health care are sick and disabled. A partnership between the V.A. medical center in Lufkin and the T.L.L. Temple Foundation will provide a coach for these former soldiers.

The bus will run daily from Jennings Station to Houston. It will have a restroom on board and enough space for two wheelchair bound passengers.
