Annual Art Show Held in Lufkin

An inaugural art show was held Tuesday in Lufkin and the artists were as unique as their portraits. Clients of Innovative Homes painted horses, cars, trees and other creative works at their first annual art show.

All of the aspiring artists won gold medals for their hard work. The exhibit is a way to showcase the group's hidden talents while helping them improve their learning and social skills.

Desmond Watts said, "I just draw when I get bored to keep me out of trouble. I like to draw a lot of stuff like cars, dogs, trees; a lot of stuff."

The Grover Washington Memorial Art Show is named in honor of one of Innovative Homes' first clients. He died in 2003.
