This coming Tuesday was to be the public's last opportunity to submit an opinion to the Corps of Engineers on the proposed S-F-A Ballpark Complex. Now that comment period has been extended another thirty days. The Corps is conducting an evaluation. It includes a wetlands study on a 52-acre tract on East Starr. Public opinion is requested. If none is submitted, it is considered that there are no objections.
Just a few written comments have been submitted, including one asking for a public hearing. Most objections pertain to the environmental issues. "The impact to the creek down there. The potential loss of the forested wetlands down in that area. Water quality issues, pretty much the general scope of environmental concerns that we see with a lot of projects."
