Liquor Store Robbed by Elderly Man

by Ramonica R. Jones

Trinity County authorities are looking for an elderly man they believe robbed a liquor store Wednesday night. The suspect walked through the front door of Linda's Liquor Store on Highway 94 before pointing a gun at the clerk and demanding money.

Surveillance video of the robbery showed the man used his T-shirt to hide his face from the cashier. He is described as an older white man with gray hair. He left the store with $15,000 in cash, credit card receipts and checks.

Steven Jones, Trinity County Sheriff, said, "He came at the exact time that the lady was counting her till bag. He came in, he grabbed the money, they put it into a paper sack and he left out of the store and went back towards the Lufkin area."

The suspect was last seen leaving the liquor store in a dark blue SUV. The cashier was able to see part of the license plate - 33M. If you know who or where the man is, call the Trinity County Sheriff's Office at (936) 642-1424.
