Runaway Suspect Released from Livingston Hospital

A Louisiana man that spent two days hiding in the woods from authorities is now out of the hospital and charged with multiple offenses.

Kenneth Ray Smith is charged with speeding, evading arrest, no driver's license and failure to identify, just to name a few of his suspected crimes. Smith hid in the woods for two days after running away from a state trooper during a traffic stop near Leggett.

Before being taken to jail, he spent several days recovering from injuries in a Livingston hospital. He was treated for severe dehydration, cuts and bruises he got after jumping into a creek.
