Funeral services for Thomas M. McKenzie, 60, of Huntington will be held Thursday, August 23, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. in the Lala Hill Baptist Church in Huntington with Brother Carl Ray Walker and Edgar Giles officiating. Interment will follow in the Carrell Cemetery.
Tom was born December 20, 1946 in Hugo, Oklahoma, to Janie Louise (Guston) and M. A. "Miller" McKenzie, and died Monday, August 20, 2007 at his residence.
Tom had resided in the Huntington area for over 38 years. He was a self-employed building contractor, and loved fishing, playing Bingo, and spending time with his grandchildren. Tom was a member of the Saron Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Claudia McKenzie of Huntington; daughter and son-in-law, Dawn and Edgar Giles of Cypress; son, James McKenzie of Bellaire; daughters-in-law, Cortney McKenzie of Bellaire and DiAnna Snyder of Huntington; granddaughter, Lexi Giles of Cypress; grandsons, Chase and Logan Giles, both of Cypress and Seth and Noah McKenzie, both of Bellaire; step-grandchildren, Amanda, Leah and Micah Snyder, all of Huntington; sister, Oleta Shelton of Paris; sister and brother-in-law, Linda and J.C. Dearing of Lufkin; brothers, Jeffrey Fox of New Mexico and Christopher Fox of Sulphur Springs; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Louise and Miller McKenzie; sister, Mary Havard; and brother, Steven Fox.
Pallbearers will be Bobby Underwood, Scott Howell, Doug Deaton, Michael Jacob, Mark Jacob and Don Greene.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at the Lala Hill Baptist Church.
