First Red Light Camera Up and Running

Lufkin city officials have finally installed the first of 11 stop light cameras in Lufkin.

The stop light camera is at Copeland and Loop 287. Right now, officials say the camera is currently only being tested.

Lufkin police will not issue warnings to violates until warning signs are in place.

Officials say the signs could be in place as early as next week.

As soon as the signs go up, drivers will have a 30 day grace period before the city starts issuing warnings.
