Drive-Thru Flu Shot Clinic Planned for Next Week

by Ramonica R. Jones

Flu season is fast approaching and vaccinations are now available in Angelina County. The county and cities health district in Lufkin will distribute flu immunizations next week during a drive-thru clinic.

Administrators are expecting more than the 600 patients they vaccinated at last year's event.

The drive-thru clinic is set for September 27th at the Angelina County and Cities Health District. It will start at 8:00 a.m. and end when doses run out.

Sarah Adams, ACCHD Immunization Director, said, "Come early, be ready. Last year, we were able to put people in and out. Our whole process - each patient took less than five minutes."

Flu shots at the drive-through clinic will cost $30a dose. The immunizations are for everyone ages four and older. The vaccine will be available to children under four next month.
