Armour-Eckrich Meat Plant Closing Its Doors in Lufkin

In a statement released this week, Armour-Eckrich Meats announced that it would close it's plant in Lufkin effective March of next year.

The plant closure will affect approximately 165 employees... both hourly and salaried.  The company will offer transfers for some of its salaried employees.

Armour-Eckrich president Michael Brown says that the company will provide assistance to the employees in helping them find other local jobs.
