Here's your Thursday restaurant report from Angelina County. The Best Buy Truck Stop on Highway 69 North got 12 demerits. There were dirty floors underneath equipment. Not all the sinks had running water and there wasn't a covered garbage can in the ladies restroom.
Jalisco Seafood on North Timberland Drive received 8 demerits. The ice machine was dirty. There were no lids on food containers and cross-contamination. The inspector stated raw fish was stored above vegetables.
The Pizza Hut on South Timberland Drive also got 8 demerits. Managers did not have proper food handler certification. Items in the freezer were stored on the floor and no covered trash receptacle in the ladies restroom.
Congratulations to Chick-Fil-A in the Lufkin Mall, Popeyes Fried Cchicken, on South Timberland, Sweet Street Treats on South Timberland Drive, and the Lufkin Country Club and Grill, all received 0 demerits on this week's restaurant report.
