House Fire Cause Sought

by Jessica Cervantez

Conflicting reports are causing the investigation into a weekend house fire in Nacogdoches to continue a while longer.

The fire happened on the 12-hundred block of Cottonwood late Saturday night.  Two people and their four dogs managed to escape the fire.  The fire chief tells the East Texas News that they've received conflicting witness reports, but an overloaded electrical outlet could be to blame.

About 30-thousand dollars of damage was done.  He says the rental property had structural decay and termites, which caused the fire to spread and burn quickly.  We'll have continuing coverage of this story as the investigation continues to unfold.
