A family was left with part of their house destroyed after their car caught on fire. The call came in just after 9 o'clock last night. Lufkin firefighters arrived to find the garage of a house. In the 2300 block of Holly Street was in flames. They were able to contain the fire and only the garage was damaged. They believe the car somehow caught on fire creating the blaze. Just before six o'clock tonight the garage began to smolder again. There were no flames but there was thick smoke. Firefighters had it out shortly after they arrived. At this time officials aren't sure why the fire started.
