Lufkin Police Report - 12/13/07

THEFT: 2400 BLOCK OF FRANK. Complainant reported that her checkbook was stolen from her jacket pocket while she was at work Wednesday.

DRIVING WHILE INTOXICATED: TULANE. The driver of a vehicle involved in an accident Wednesday evening was suspected of being intoxicated, possibly on an unknown substance other than alcohol.  The man submitted to a blood test and no charges have been filed at this time pending those test results.

THEFT: 500 BLOCK OF SOUTH JOHN REDDITT. A taillight lens cover was stolen off a pickup sometime Tuesday afternoon.

DISTURBANCE/DOMESTIC: 1600 BLOCK OF FRANK. Complainant reported that his Chevrolet van was stolen Tuesday night and named a suspect.  The van was recovered Wednesday at the suspect's house and a warrant has been requested for the suspect.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF: 100 BLOCK SOUTH FIRST. Complainant reported that a window was broken out on a business Tuesday night.  There was no indication that the building was entered and nothing was missing.

BURGLARY: 800 BLOCK OF OAK. An auto shop reported that someone entered the back fenced lot Tuesday night and stole the stereos out of four vehicles there.

FORGERY/COUNTERFEITING: 2500 DANIEL MCCALL. A man tried to purchase items with a counterfeit American Express traveler's check.  The man stated he received it as payment from someone in Florida for items sold on E-bay.

THEFT: 3000 BLOCK OF MCKINNEY. Complainant reported that someone stole two mailboxes from in front of their home over the past three days.

DISTURBANCE/DOMESTIC: 900 BLOCK OF HOSEA DOLPHUS. Complainant reported that two known suspects kicked in his front door early Wednesday morning and then fled on foot.
