LPD Detective

In a KTRE-TV exclusive, the East Texas News has learned Detective John Davis of the Lufkin Police Department has been put on paid administrative leave after Internet photographs were discovered that feature he and a self-described college student having sex.

The woman's screen name is "Tiffany Winters."  The pictures are on a subscription-based website called "Southern Charms.  Earlier this week we told you that Detective Davis had been appointed to head the Cyber Crimes Unit of the Lufkin Police Department.  It is not believed that Davis broke any criminal laws while taking part in the photo shoots, but his suspension comes because of possible police department policy violations.

L-P-D is holding an internal investigation into the photographs, and Detective Davis.

We should also point out that Detective Davis and "Tiffany Winters" were recently married.

Police Chief Brazil tells the East Texas News that in the 17 years Officer Davis has been with the department he has done a very good job, however, the department doesn't condone activity that might blacken the department or put it in disrepute.  He says an internal investigation is underway to determine any disciplinary action.

Chief Brazil emphasized the Lufkin Police Department is a good department and he hopes the outcome of this investigation doesn't reflect unfavorable on the rest of the department because of the actions of one officer.

We'll have continuing coverage of this story as new information becomes available.
