Livingston House Fire

The bodies of three children, ages 2 and 4, have been recovered from a house fire in Livingston.  The mother of two of the children, 27 year old Lisa Marie Smith was able to escape the fire.  She was taken by ambulance and treated at Memorial Medical Center in Livingston for smoke inhalation.

The children are identified as two year old Vanessa Soto, four year old Kyle Soto and four year old Julian Jack Smith, all of Livingston.   The State Fire Marshal's office is helping local fire investigators to determine the origin and cause of the fire.  Investigators say the fire at 1019 Brock Street, occurred around noon Wednesday.

Livingston Police Lieutenant Matt Parrish tells the East Texas News the case will be forwarded to the District Attorney's office for review, as is the procedure whenever an incident involving a death occurs in Polk County.

Lt. Parrish says their investigation is a long way from being over.  At this point, the fire is not considered suspicious, however, they are waiting on a final report from the state, lab results and results of autopsy reports for the children to make a final determination.
