Four children are in the CPS custody, after their caregiver put one of the children inside the trunk of a car. Lufkin Police say witnesses thought it was a kidnapping taking place when they saw the child being put in the trunk. According to investigators the seven-year-old girl was not behaving and was placed in there as a form of punishment. Three other children were riding in the backseat of the vehicle. All four children are in the custody of Child Protective Services. It is unclear where the mother is at this time. Police also are not sure of the relationship between the children and the caregiver and the driver of that vehicle. Both the driver and caregiver are in jail facing child endangerment charges.
