Funeral services for R. B. Nerren, 84, of Huntington will be held Monday, December 31, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway-Claybar Funeral Home Chapel in Lufkin with Brother Cary Modisett officiating. Masonic graveside services will follow in the Poland Cemetery under the auspices of the Homer Masonic Lodge #254 A.F. & A.M.

Mr. Nerren was born November 21, 1923 in the Shawnee Prairie Community, Angelina County, Texas, to Pearl (Parham) and Floyd Nerren, and died Friday, December 28, 2007 at his residence.

Mr. Nerren was a lifetime resident of Huntington. He served with the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Miller during World War II and retired from Brown and Root Construction. Mr. Nerren was a member of the Homer Masonic Lodge #254 A.F. & A.M., and a member of the Shawnee Prairie Baptist Church.

Survivors include his daughter, Evonne Nerren of Huntington; sister and brother-in-law, Jimmie and Carl Havard of Shawnee Prairie; nephews, Tommy Glenn Havard of Huntington, James Robert Havard and Larry Keith Havard, both of Shawnee Prairie; and numerous other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Pearl and Floyd Nerren; and wife, Gladys Nerren.

Pallbearers will be Hubert Jones, Doyle Thornton, James Lovett, Denny Porter, Otis Clark, Bobby Hawkins and J. C. Crawford.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Shawnee Prairie Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 1480, Huntington, Texas 75949 or the Homer Masonic Lodge, P.O. Box 254, Huntington, Texas 75949.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon at the funeral home in Lufkin.
