Lufkin Police Report - 1/2/08

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF: 1200 BLOCK OF WEST FRANK AVENUE. A male was seen striking the window of a car just before 4a.m.  Hospital security chased the man who fled in a beige car.  The window he had been hitting on showed some small scratches from being hit with a rock but was not broken.

ASSAULT: 300 BLOCK OF NORTH FIRST. A woman reported that two Hispanic males forced her into a red pickup as she was walking to work on North First Street around 8pm Tuesday.  The woman said the men tried to force some type of white powder up her nose and scratched her with a key and tried to burn her hair.  The two suspects dropped her off near Paul and Timberland a short time later.  The woman had visible injuries on her arms, chest and face and sought treatment at a local ER.

THEFT/C: 620 NORTH RAGUET. A store clerk reported that a male walked out of the store without paying for a 30-pack of beer Tuesday evening.

THEFT/C: 2200 EAST DENMAN. A store clerk reported that a male ran out of the store without paying for a 30-pack of beer Tuesday night.

BURGLARY/VEHICLE: 2500 DANIEL MCCALL DRIVE. Complainant reported that his car stereo was stolen from his car Tuesday evening while he was shopping.

ASSAULT/A: 1800 SAYERS. Complainant reported that her boyfriend grabbed her by the throat during an argument Tuesday evening and slammed her against a cabinet.  Complainant had no visible injuries.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF: 400 BLOCK OF TIMBERLAND. A near collision at a drive-in restaurant led to a disturbance Tuesday evening.  One woman reported that the other driver followed her down Timberland and tried to hit her with her car and got out at a red light and cursed her and hit on the woman's window.  The reporting party then followed that suspect to Abney St. where the suspect then stopped and threw rocks at the complainant's car.  The suspect was located and identified and said she threw rocks at the complainant who was following her because she didn't know her and didn't want to be followed.  Complainant's car received some damage to the front fender from a thrown rock.

BURGLARY/HABITATION: 600 BLOCK OF EVERETT STREET.  Complainant reported that a computer tower and some keys were stolen during a burglary of her home.  Complainant reported that some cabinets were also stolen from her carport.

BURGLARY/VEHICLE: 2100 BLOCK OF STUDEWOOD. Complainant reported that a stereo and wallet were stolen from his SUV sometime Tuesday morning.

THEFT/B: 800 BLOCK OF SHERMELL STREET. Complainant reported that a blue and purple 10-speed bicycle was stolen from her back yard Monday night.
