Funeral services for Maudie Pantalion, 100, of Lufkin will be held Wednesday, January 9, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. in the Simpson Campground Methodist Church with Brother Phillip North and Brother R. G. "Bud" Davis officiating. Interment will follow in the Simpson Campground Cemetery, Woden, Texas.

Maudie was born August 7, 1907 in Nacogdoches County to Donie (Morton) and John Smith and died Sunday, January 6, 2008 in a local nursing facility.

Mrs. Pantalion, formerly of Zwolle, Louisiana, had resided in Lufkin for 8 years.  She was a homemaker and a member of First United Pentecostal Church of Lufkin.

Survivors include her brother, James Smith of Conroe; sister, Pauline Haney of Lufkin; 5 step children; 11 step grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband, J.A. Pantalion.

Pallbearers will be Marlyn Smith, Milford Smith, Johnny Smith, Hollis Pantalion, Jr., Joe Pantalion, and Jesse Pantalion.

Honorary pallbearers will be David Ashby and Wayne Ashby.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
